Crystal's Adventures in Books

I have been putting a lot of books on my kindle. About 60 books so far. I bought the Charles Dickens collection, Memoirs of Ulysses Grant, Silas Marner, and many others. The kindle is compact and easy to use.

I am currently reading Andrew Carnegie's autobiography, and "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin

I have accumulated a lot of books over the years. I might have to get several storage containers to put them in. The hard part is deciding which ones to get rid of.

When I was in the eight grade. I loved the teen book series, like Sweet Valley High, etc. I also liked Chrystal Falls, a lesser known teen book series. I loved reading those books. I recently ordered the last book in the series, a used copy since the series ended in 1986. Chrystal Falls only lasted 7 books.

In North Carolina, we are under a winter storm warning. If we get the worst of it, I will be curled up under a blanket reading a book.

I am currently reading Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity. So far it seems to be a pretty good read. I will do a review when I'm finished.

I enjoyed reading Jennifer Crusie's book,The Cinderella Deal . She wrote it over ten years ago. It's a fun read. The book engages you right from the start.

I am thankful for my health, my family and the ability to create.

I am looking forward to saturday, when my copy of "The Deathly Hallows" will arrive. I hope this book lives up to the hype. I wonder who will die in this one. MuggleNet.Com is a good site for all things Harry Potter.

I recently installed the Green Browser from a pc utilities CD I had. It loads pretty fast, quicker than IE in my experience. The only thing I don't like is the little green box constantly on the screen even when I minimize the page.

I visit John Chow dot com daily because of the good content. It's a blog that helps people make money. Now, John Chow dot com is giving away a 24" wide screen LCD monitor. To enter the contest you have to write a entry about it. The contest is sponsored by hosting Canada site Bluefur.com.

A few weeks ago I cashed out a 1000 pts I'd earned with MySurvey.com which translated into a $10 check I received in the mail a week ago. I have built up 555 pts toward another 1000 pts. With CreationRewards.net I have 548 pts.

I am part of an ad network. Every advertisement I get promises the world for a "special" price. Some of the sites I visit seem be on the level, then others seem too good to be true. It's a path for the wary, making money online.

I joined this panel several months back. I receive the surveys in my inbox, there is a 10 day window in I can answer them. I get a certain number of I-tickets depending on the length of the survey. I can use the I-tickets as entries in several sweepstakes. Ipos I-say survey panel

I enjoyed the history channel documentary Star Wars Legacy Revealed. Learning about the philosophy behind the movies, made some things more clear. I logged onto historychannel.com to find out more about the mythology found in star wars.

I have several different web browsers I use to surf the internet. Even though my family has AOL web access, the browser I like the best is the opera browser. It doesn't slow down my computer like the AOL web browser. I also like Opera's password manager, so I don't have to type in the password each time I log into to my favorite websites. I use internet explorer to edit my blog.

I recently joined a online survey panel called
Zoom Panel. At 1000 pts you qualify for the first level of rewards. Currently I have 175 pts. The surveys are interesting and easy to navigate.

My computer is 4 yrs old and counting. I have the bare bones vista basic running, and right now I only have 639 megs of memory, low for a vista machine. Since I'm currently looking for work, my memory upgrade will have to wait :o(.
